Internship: Lab Technician – Fluids Lab (Wind Tunnels)

Role Summary 

We are seeking a skilled Lab Assistant / Research Assistant for state-of-the-art wind tunnel facilities supporting innovative Aerospace projects. The candidate will play a key role in assisting engineers on the product development process, prototyping, and experimental evaluation related to aerodynamics and fluid mechanics.

The Intern will assist in maintaining and operating wind tunnel facilities, preparing experiments, and supporting data collection and analysis. This hands-on internship is ideal for graduate students (Master with research / PhD) and/or recent graduates having practical experience (2 to 3 Years) in fluid dynamics and laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and calibrate wind tunnel experiments.
  • Operate wind tunnel equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Prepare test models, instrumentation, and experimental components.
  • Collect, record, and analyze experimental data using tools like LabView, MATLAB, Python, or Excel.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment.
  • Document procedures and findings in technical reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers to refine experimental setups.

Qualification:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field (current or recent graduate).
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics and aerodynamics.
  • Familiarity with wind tunnel operations or labs.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python, Excel).
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills.
